Wisconsin Dells is named for the Dells of the Wisconsin River. Wisconsin Dells was first named Kilbourn City after Byron Kilbourn.

Wisconsin Dells is located in four Wisconsin Counties; Adams, Columbia, Juneau and Sauk. Most of the population is located in Columbia County. For this Website, we use Columbia County as the Wisconsin Dells main County for reference.

"The Dells" or Wisconsin Dells as a tourist destination is made up of both the City of Wisconsin Dells and the Village of Lake Delton
