Cumberland Wisconsin
Cumberland was originally called Lakeland. In 1879 John A Humbird, then president of the Chicago and North Western Railway asked that Lakeland be changed to Cumberland to honor his hometown of Cumberland Maryland.
Cumberland is often called Island City because of it being located partly on land surrounded by Beaver Dam Lake.
